Dangerous update...

So at first this seemed like an amazing update… Great new functionnalities, that kind of worked. But… Why release such an update when it is not fully functionnal? I work with a mac pro 2013 6 core beast.. and logic has never been so slow. I need to wait 20seconds, only to SELECT AN AUDIO REGION… Same thing for just about everything i need to do.. Ok the project is about 300 tracks… but on the previous logic X it run sooo smooth… Sadly now i need to find a way to reverse to the previous version because i cannot complete my work with such horrible latency. Great ideas for new functionalities, but suuuuper slow down frozen logic pro is...

Sad :-(

Ill try to write in english Why Apple does not allow Yosemite users to update to V 10.3 ? Every day more disappointed as user If I upgrade to the Sierra my Protools does not work well Thumbs down

New Design - Hello 2017

I love the new version of Logic Pro x 10.3. The new GUI makes me feel even more working with a modern DAW. This update is a must. Cheers DUNE

Amazing software !

I have used garageband for many years and I finally decided to get my “virtual” hands on Logic Pro ; probably the best decision of my life. It is really easy to use and very interractive. Never had any bug nor problem. A must have if you wanna start producing your own music !

Still the Same midi loops/jams !!

Since updating to 10.2.2 (and 10.2.3 is the same) I’ve been getting “midi jams” or loops/sustains weird ! Tried to reset all midi options but problem still there. Using MOTU Midi Xpress, tried using others like M-audio with no luck. Everytime I either change tracks or stop/play it transmits a low midi note and I cannot make it go away ! It was driving me crazy ! Went back to Logic Pro X 10.2.1 and all is good. I’m using OS X 10.10.5. Perhaps El Capitan does not have this problem. Strange ! Anyone experiencing similar issues ? Otherwiswe I love Logic Pro X

Quadruple!

Simply put, this program opened up many impulsive avenues. I was able to do all I wanted and then found out there was more. Sure, GarageBand is cool, but this is amazing. In 3 years, I have recorded about 500 songs. It is a great Do it yourself tool that an interested person will 100% find very inspiring and efficient.

Recording an album with this wonderful DAW

Very easy to use Full fledge DAW that cost less than Reason or Protools Good sound. Stock plugins are awesome. Did I Mention Flex Time / Flex Pitch ( Melodyne-like features ) Plenty of instruments to choose from . Free Download of instruments and loop library . Great for home and full on professional recording and mixing application. I personally use it to track live concert in multitrack ( Been Rock Solid ) You’d be crazy not to get a copy of this cost effective yet super easy to use full fledge DAW . runs on my Mid 2009 17 inch MacBook Pro .

Awesome, mostly

Logic does everything I’ve needed and more. I learn something new each time I use it and I know it still has loads of features I don’t even use. The included plug-in instruments are quite good (though the new ‘Drummer’ is a bit kitschy). The plug-in fx are hit and miss…some are great, others not so much; however, that really depends on what you’re using it for. I was disappointed when I first realized I lost a lot of older plug-ins that I used in Version 9, but the benefits & quality of newer plugins and features far outweigh this. I haven’t experienced the CPU flooding that others mention. I have had a handful of crashes, though the auto-save feature has prevented me from ever losing anything. There are a few bugs, but not as bad as some make it out to be.

Very buggy on Sierra

I have been using Logic for years and I couldn’t imagine using any other program. The problem is that since I updated my computer to Sierra it has been very buggy. Barely a minute goes by without the piano roll editor freezing, not showing changes I am making, or not showing anything. When this happens my only option is to repeatedly close and reopen the piano roll, this crashes the entire program more often than not. Not to mention, often times it will briefly pop the end points of the prvious notes I edited right to where my cursor is while I’m box selecting new notes, selecting the breifly lengthened notes. Now, I could live with that. What I’m really having issues with is the fact that the controls for every single audio effect (Audio Unit or otherwise), midi effect, and instrument generator. I can’t recall this ever happening on the main interface, but whenever I tweak a value for any effect it resets the property I edited previously to either zero or what it was before I edited it. What this means is that I CAN NOT EDIT MULTIPLE VALUES AT ONCE. The ONLY way to set multiple attributes is to change one, close the effect window, open it again, and repeat for every value that needs changing. This is beyond frustrating and has been causing me to lose faith in the program for the last while. What is even more infuriating is the fact that Apple hasn’t released an update for the program in HALF A YEAR at the time of me writing this. I thought Logic was supposed to be an industry leader, and for the price I’d expect that the program functioned properly and that Apple would be constantly ridding it of bugs, especially when a new operating system is released that may cause older programs to malfunction. I’m losing faith in this product. A very good program when it works. But the constant crashes and harsh bugs that interfere with my work it isn’t really worth it. If you’re looking for a good program for music production, consider looking around a bit more.

Great Update

The new UI will take some getting used to but this update in unmissible considering the rest of the update!

Absolutely Horrible Look and Colour Scheme. Go Back to Previous Please!!!

I’ve been using Logic since the Atari days (over 30 yrs). I’ve seen all the wonderful updates, however this update is... Absolutely horrible look! 10.2.4 graphics was fantastic, and really easy and enjoyable to look at. Like it was made by Apple. This new look is like a child made it up. It looks like another PC Windows application! APPLE WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR SENSES? APPLE NEEDS TO GIVE US THE CHOICE TO USE THE LAST COLOUR SCHEME AS OPPOSED TO THIS RIDICULOUS PC WINDOWS LOOK. OR AT LEAST GO BACK TO THE LAST LOOK! IM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!

New Look

The new look of Logic X was much needed. It looks and also feels smoother to use and easy on the eyes.

A Step Backwards!! AWFUL NEW DESIGN

When I originaly saw this update I made the decision not to update because of how awful the new design was, but then one day I open logic and BAM new update. The fonts got thinner making them harder to read. The lighter theme looks like it was thrown together in 5 minutes and its absolute garbage. WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA???!!! Please give users a dark and light theme option so that we can choose. Its not that hard, I can live with the smaller fonts, thinner lines, and the different icons, JUST LET US CHOOSE THE THEME. I generally like cleaner designs but this one just felt forced.

excellent update

For me personally this is the best update yet! The rendering plug-ins to regions is incredible. That was the one and only thing I preferred in Pro Tools as I liked to work that way sometimes. It was possible before, but cumbersome. But not only can you render any plugin without having to install another plugin type, but you can combine any number, and fix the gain etc. And it processes super quick. This makes creating reverse reverbs much easier too.

Bug?

Crashing whenever I save a project...

Disappointing Update

Unfortunately I’m firmly in the “don’t like the new look” camp also. I and my engineers have complained about the new look being hard on the eyes, after staring at a monitor for hours during a session. This is run on a purpose built, high performance machine built strictly for audio production. I don’t understand why Apple wants to make it look like an iOS device. We’ve also experienced a bunch of operational bugs and had to return to 10.2.4. This is a major update. Other places on Apples site will warn you about backups before updating (always a good idea anyway) but the updates section of the app store didn’t say that and we got into trouble. I love Logic, I’ve been using it since version 3 (a long time!) Logic X is also great and some of the new features here in 10.3 will be great when it’s sorted out, but till then we’ve got to hold off. As a “Pro” app we need this as a tool to do professional work, not to spend time sorting out why something is not working or how a feature was changed while a client is looking over your shoulder. Change does not necessarily equal innovation. As the hardware is solid and 10.2.4 still runs fine (as does V9) I have to say the issues are software related in 10.3.

Pretty unbelievable….

So much power… it is frightening... at first sight, but then, you realize how user-friendly it is ! Those effects are fantastic and now you are able to change their : “ View size “… fantastic ! You can take any : “ Movie clips ", old or new, from old or new camcorders… and edit the : “ Audio tracks “ to your liking… awesome ! Logic Pro X 10.1.1 with Yosemite 10.10.5 is so precise and stable… it is such a great pleasure to work with. I am delighted beyond my wildest dreams. I can’t work on it very often, because I’m so busy with other softwares… but when I do, it sure is a treat ! Keep up your excellent work Apple, I’ve been with you for 10 years and I’ve loved every minutes of it ! Now, with the new version 10.2… for free, it is incredible ! Alchemy is so mind-boggling and... what a fantastic library that goes with it. There are incredible sounds for every occasion. Also, it is so easy to use our : “ Newly created tracks “, put them in the : “ Media browser “ and use them with : “ Final Cut Pro X “. It is an amazing piece of software ! I have a : “ Mac Pro “ with : “ 12 hearts, with : “ 32 Gigs of Ram “ and it works flawlessly. If you’ve got the Machine to do it… you’ve got the : “ Absolute power “. I just love the new design of the effects with the new version. Today, I succeeded in transferring some old : “ Garage Band “ songs, from 2005 to : “ Logic Pro X “, without a glitch ! Incredible, that Logic could find all the sounds and the : “ Audio files “ from my old hard drives, with a : “ Search “ box giving me different choices. I have a suggestion to make, for the next version… some dialog boxes look really outdated and old ! It would be nice if they could have a 2016 look that would be more trendy ! Well, with this new version 10.3… Apple has really updated everything. It looks so beautiful now and there is more instruments than ever ! It’s incredible… keep up the good work Apple !

Please fix Logic

Warning to power users: stay on 10.2.4 until an update is released. So many basic things are broken for me. Composing and editing has become a game of “how can I work around THIS bug.” (Comping Tracks, option-drag to duplicate regions, even UNDO!) Apple, please respect that people like me use this software to earn their living. This seems like it was rushed out the door without the proper testing.

The new interface...

looks like when windows app lost skin...

10.3 is awesome

Logic Pro X is great. Some features like Track Stack and Take Folder makes it easier to use than Pro Tools. But I would like some minor improvements : +Possibility to name busses for a project (simply add a save and load setting). We can name busses but we’re stuck with the same names for all our projects. +Some third party plugins with more CPU usage like Izotope Rx introduce latency in audio files no matter how fast is your computer (please fix this!) +I love the possibility to use plugins in Dual Mono, but i would like a link button. Besides that, I abolutely love it, GREAT DAW and 10.3 makes it a real competitor to Pro Tools !
