Blown away

Drummer is so efficient and productive for creativity, especially by yourself. The new look is great. All the new tones and amps and pedals sound awesome stock. I really like the MIC presets too its cool that the logic sounds are so good now and you can easily tweak them as well. Logic Remote?! Now with the ipad Air. Thats what im talkin about

so smart and easy

what a deal. great music recording software, lots of plugins and sounds.

Fantasic!!!

I am not a pro engineer but I am a musician and I love this version of Logic - THe UI is very friendly and the new sounds and loops are great. The Logic contoller for iPad made my life so much easier, now when I am recording with an instrument in hand I am not playing arohnd with a mouse I have a whole board on my iPad. Great Job apple! - Can’t beat 199$

I spoke too soon - waiting for the next bug fix

Update installed Jan 10 fixed "record" button problem related to incompatibility with some audio interfaces. But there are still issues with sharing a project to iTunes. Many users, including myself, find it will only send partial project to iTunes. Waiting for the next bug fix. I want to love Logic, but it aint easy.

So many bugs its useless

It amazes me how much Apple has gone to s#it over the last couple years. Logic X STILL has so many bugs that its completely useless. Pops & cracks, regions not snapping to the grid and slipping all the time, not being able to see your edits because of graphic bugs are just a few. If you need to get jobs done in time, i strongly recommend to stay on Logic9. Ill go back to working with version9 and probably wont spend any more money on Apple products as i keep regretting it. Youre not getting your moneys worth anymore (and yes, Logic X is only $200...)

Logic Not Logical

Great ideas wrapped up in the most confusing layout and tools know to man. Just spent 40+ minutes researching how to punch in on a comp track while listing to the pre-roll…. cant do it. Dosent this seem like something that should be logicaly easy? There are some great features in this program but to many options that make the workflow seem like a microsoft product not an Apple product. I think the Logic design team should contact beginner, intermediate and power users and ask to monitor the workflow to see the things they could improve on. Because you should really be able to move a track on the mixer section and it should move in the arrange page so you dont have to do it twice…….

Logic Pro X Works Perfect!

Works perfectly no issues Mac Pro Late 2013 64GB, Duet by Apogee, Axim Air 49 controller and no issues as reported below with respect to crashes.

Logical choice

Excellent and worth the money additional content- so much content you’ll be trying out stuff for weeks/months easy to learn the drummer (and follow options(best I’ve seen))

meh

ok dont get me wrong this is a great softwear that i like and use all the time but honestly someone needs to fix this crash issue cause its happened afew times where the program just stops responding and you loose everything youve created and spent hours on so thats pretty frustrating aspeshally for a softwear that costs $225 with tax or what ever they add on to the price -.-

Speechless

I am a composer, and I can tell you…Logic Pro X is also the best composing software; better than Finale and Sibelius. The instruments are so realistic (except for few instruments that I didn’t like) that they sound like a real-live orchestra playing back for you. On the down side, the composing tool can be challenging to use, BUT you just need to get used to it (like some of the keyboard shortcuts, and the locations and icons that change your settings of your score sheet). Even so, if you don’t like the instrument that you are hearing, you can also buy instrument packs, sound packs, or jam packs with a cheap price. Overall, it’s excellent!!

It’s like all my prayers have been answered!

Everything I could have wanted in Logic Pro has just been added. Whoever is in the Logic Pro development team at Apple deserves hugs.

latest update was fantastic

There are some big new features in this one (like the drum designer), but what I like most is that so many little things that were focused on. The note painting feature combined with drum names and piano editor collapsing alone would have been enough, allowing quicker, more intuitive drum editing. I may actually be able to stop relying so much on doing drums in 3rd party plugins and importing the midi, as I’ve done in the past. Plugin organization! This may just save a second or two, but it will do it every time you’re looking for your favourite EQ. I like that more and more focus is being put on the basics like this.

major crashing problems with certain plugins and “cutting"

i just purchased logic pro and was quite happy, at first..but it constantly crashes on me…for example when i am connected to an HDTV to expand my screen and work on a seperate monitor, i try to open up the Air HYBRID 3 VST plugin, IT CRASHES! EVERY TIME! yet when i am not connected to the HDTV it opens up just ine and i have to reconnect, everything shows up just fine on the television, unless i create a new track and want to use my HYBRID 3 plugin once again. it WILL crash, every time…and ive noted that when i try to use the ANALOG LAB from arturia, it doesnt crash on me and i have full access to all sounds..lets say for example i recorded a beat and threw in some synth using one of the presets from the arturia vst, if i save and close and re-open it, the sound i just recorded from the ANALOG LAB VST does not make sound in the recording..i have to go back into my library and find the sound al over again and re record..is this an issue with logic or the VST plugins? i also discovered that, when i accidentally inserted an arrangement at the top of the tracks list (into, verse, chorus etc.) when i selected it and tried to “cut” IT CRASHES!!! why logic…why….i really want to love it and give it a 5 star rating but im extremly frustrated with the crashing. im running on a brand new 13 inch macbook pro w/retina display (2.6ghz 8gb/ram YOSEMITE 10.10.2)

Update

Love it but would like to see Apple bring back the master suit that was shipped with Logic 9. I dont mind paying for it.

Preaty Good DAW

I been playing music and recording for a number of years.. i had this program for a few months.. There is a learning curve atached to it.. So dont get pissy if you can’t doo all in 5 min after you install it.. It took me a month of intensive reseach to get going.. and still have things to learn. But foremost does what it supposed to do. and for the price of $200 its preaty damn good. had no problems with it.. Few errors.. few creates.. But that is to be expected.. a negative.. Its a Hard Drive Hog.. so make sure you have lots of it. olso lots of power.. Its a pro recording software.. so it will work best with a mac pro.. What i dont like..is purely ecstatic..(it looks to much like GarageBand)..My first impresion was..Greaat I paid $200 for an upgrade to GarageBand…But, that is further from the truth.. I find GarageBand confusing and hard to work with.. Logic..it makes sense…After You get over the look and all the Mac phopas,Its preaty fun DAW to use.. It does everything short of making you dinner.

Data Hog!

After using 1.05gb for the app I’m surprised to see there’s further downloads that by Apple’s estimation will take 9 solid hours. WHY??????

Don’t cry just read the manual

A few stability bugs. People complaining just need to read the manual, most hate is user error. Custom GUI’s are great too.

So far

I’ve taken a number of courses in Logic and have used it extensively for almost a year now and it just keeps getting better. There is a very steep learning curve to it and it’s worth the effort. Your recordings will improve greatly, especially if you add in some formal training. You owe it to yourself to learn as much as you can and push the limits. This new version does just that, it pushes the limits of what I knew with more up to date addons and features. All software is a Work in Progress. Be patient and this will pay off for you.

Amazing Deal

It really is an amazing deal to own such a fine piece of software that is so stable and wonderful to use. In all my 7 years of using this program, I have never had a problem. The factory / default plug-ins it comes with are actually very good, where other DAWs come with mediocre at best (ahem, the reverb in Pro Tools, D-Verb, yick!) plug-ins. Logic X is a lot nicer to work with than Logic 9… huge upgrade. Very satisfied customer. Anyways, this is a no-brainer. For the price, you simply cannot beat owning arguably the best tool in the world for digital music creation.

Excellent except for one thing.

There is a problem with some synths like “agile synth base” for example. When I try to use it in a track it doesnt work. Also when I open smart controlls for it it says “Could not find layout for modern synth 2 tab.” I have a feeling this is because of the new garageband update and the smart control layout for these synths isnt on logic yet. Please update!!!!
