Logic Pro App Reviews

Constant freezes

I’ve been using this program for years, and it’s sad to see it fall so low. The latest version(s) freeze all the time with the famous “system overload” bug, even though my computer is powerful and has 8 cores, and I’m not playing very many tracks. It ain’t my computer, it’s the program :( Avoid this upgrade, and certainly don’t buy it as your first choice… I have to use Logic 9 to get any work done, and I’m seriously eyeing Digital Performer, since they actually listen to their users. What a pain to have to switch programs, but Logic is too unstable now. (I am extremely experienced at troubleshooting computers, so it is indeed the program at fault.)

What’s Up with the audio interface capability?

I recently updated to El Capitan but now my Steinburg interface is not compatible? I could have stayed where i was! Are There any Updates with my audio interface in mind?

My favorite DAW! 10.2.2 update is killing me though...

I use Logic all the time. After the update to 10.2.2 I have to keep restarting the app because hte PLAYHEAD is invisible which makes it ridiclously hard to edit. And then when bringing up the MIDI or MIxer windows on the bottom, my timeline goes black! Please, please fix! Love, Howi

system overloads

I agree with most reviews in regard to this issue. I have spent countless hours on the phone with apple support trying to remedy this instead of recording. I have been given advice on how to deal with this by numerous senior advisors. I feel that given some of the most intelligent people in the industry are writing these programs, they should work seamlessly without having to freeze tracks or increase I/O buffer size. I have been using MAC since the 80’s. I’m kind of disappointed.

Stunning DAW for Beatmakers

Logic pro x is a beautifully looking DAW with its nice use of color that others DAW’s lack, and it personally inspires me to get work done unlike logic 9 where is was just plain white. Now as far the features there is a lot to learn from this DAW and as a beat maker, its great. However, I do wish they would update it more often for example, ESX24 and Ultrabeat are uninspiring and are in need of a serious update. There is also some noticiable bugs that can be seen with everyday use. I also wish Logic pro x wasn’t so hard on cpu. Nonetheless, logic pro x is a great DAW feature and visual wise in my opinion even though it still needs some work in order to be considered the best.

Forgetting about simplicity.

Logic Pro X could be so much more if it would just incorporate simplicity. I’m tired of not being able to change my interface without encountering 900 problems, especially when it hurts to look at because it is so bland and space-ship-y. I am over the irrational amount of crashes on my brand new iMac. I am more than annoyed that 90% of the vst’s sounds are so widely distributed that I have to take the time to just direct them more forward when I sometimes just want to start out. Give your users the option of simplicity, furthermore, give them more simple options! I love taking my time, I really do, but it is actually mentally deteriorating when it takes me so much longer in Logic than in other DAWs because of how stupid depth there is, depth that most of the time just goes nowhere! Can I at least get some new colors? Sheesh. Isn’t this an Apple product? Where are the sexy aesthetic hues?

This program has a big issue for download it!

im triying to download it, and it take so long. After 3 hours waiting faild download ! my internet is faster! i dont get it! I do not really recommended.

What is going on??

Personally I haven’t have had logic for too long, but this last update completely threw everything out of wack. There’s twice as many system overloads now, and I can’t even share my music through email anymore. Everytime I am in the process of emailing a project Logic crashes completely. Highly disappointed, because I know this is supposed to be such great software. I dont want to switch to a new product, but how am I supposed to get my work with this kind of stuff occurring.

Excellent for home recordists

Apple has a great gateway drug for music production: GarageBand. You can go from knowing nothing to learning basic concepts about multitracking, midi, effects, and signal flow. And once you’re ready to move on to something more powerful, ta-dah! Logic Pro X has enough family resemblance with GarageBand that the transition should be quite easy. This is good, because Logic is *very* powerful, especially for composing music. The continuum from novice to expert is years long, but for me it’s reassuring to know that I’m able to do anything I want to do with my music production while knowing that, should I explore, say, advanced sound manipulation, Logic has tricks up its sleeve that I’m not even aware of yet. This review is intended mainly for home recordists who are not audio professionals. If you are a professional engineer, or plan to be one some day, you probably want to invest in Pro Tools. But if you’re looking for a powerful tool for recording, Logic fits the bill no question, at a terrific price.
